Dr. Betty Knight

Dr. Betty Knight:

Dr. Knight graduated from the University of Guelph, Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) in 1997. After graduation, she returned to the Sarnia area to work at another veterinary clinic. In 2011, Dr. Knight and Dr. Iacobelli opened The Rapids Veterinary Hospital.

Dr. Knight grew up on a dairy farm outside of Sarnia. Being a veterinarian was the only career path she ever considered pursuing. While growing up on the farm, she was always trying to help nurse any of the sick animals back to health, therefore a veterinarian appeared to be the perfect vocation. During high school, she worked at a local veterinary clinic which reinforced her desire to pursue her chosen career path.

Dr. Knight, her husband, Ken and their children, Sarah, Hailey, Nathan, and Danny share their home with cats "Harry" and "Houdini" and a crazy boxer cross "Roxy". In her spare time, she volunteers with Girl Guides of Canada, is on the executive of The Lakeroad Lions Band, volunteers at Lambton Centre and is a very active member of London Road West United Church. She also enjoys camping and gardening.

Dr. Claire Tidball

Dr. Claire Tidball:

Claire Tidball graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College (OVC) in 2017. Before veterinary school she completed her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, majoring in Animal Science at the University of Guelph.

She grew up in Pickering, Ontario but moved to the Sarnia area shortly after graduation and began work at the Rapids Veterinary Hospital. She always had an interest in animals from a young age, growing up with several family pets and being an avid horseback rider. Her first job was at a veterinary clinic throughout high school, which solidified her desire to pursue veterinary medicine. She now lives in Bright’s Grove with her husband Winston, her two children Reid and Taylor, as well as her Labrador retriever “Artie” and mischievous cat “Wendel”. In her spare time she enjoys baking, playing the piano and spending time with her family and horse “Juno”.

Dr. Tanya Aitken

Dr. Tanya Aitken

Dr. Aitken completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Guelph in 2010, and graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2014.

She grew up in Wallaceburg and still has family in the area, so when the opportunity to move to Sarnia arose it was an easy decision. She moved here soon after graduation and has been working locally ever since.

Dr. Aitken lives with her husband Brent, and their son Wesley. They share their home with two cats, Finnegan and Jasmine, and one crazy basset hound named Kiwi. When she’s not at work you will find her gardening or crocheting.

Dr. Leeson

Dr. Sarah Leeson

Dr. Sarah grew up in a small town outside of Ancaster, Ontario. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Animal Biology at the University of Guelph, and then graduated with her DVM from the Ontario Veterinary College in 2017.

She moved to Sarnia following graduation, and has worked locally as a veterinarian since then. She has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and feline medicine.

She loves living in Sarnia and being so close to the beach and beautiful water. In her time off you can find her exploring the outdoors with her senior husky Nova, or with her nose buried in a book, cuddling with one (or more!) of her cats Earl, Rupert, Ronald, Kobi, Cedric or Beatrice.
